Unfortunately, due to lack of time, we cannot answer all the e-mails we receive. So, if you need to solve some problems regarding the downloads, take your time to read this page carefully before sending us an e-mail.
If there is no answer to your questions (and only in this case), you can e-mail us and we will see to it.

GENERAL INFO

1. We do not accept any walls or skins requests. Sorry!
2. You are not allowed to recolour or clone walls and skins to redistribute them in other sites.
3. You can use our downloads to make screenshots provided that you link back to our site giving us proper credit.
4. Please be so kind as not to ask us how to make walls and skins. We would like to teach you, but there is not time enough to reply everyone. Besides, there are many good tutorials on the web. Just to mention some of them:

5. Please do not ask us to give you serial numbers of the game. It is illegal!
   
6. To download files from this site, just click on the desired image. A window will appear asking you where to save the dowload. Now you can choose any folder, but remember that then you will have to unzip the files in the correct directories (see section "Installation" below).
   

INSTALLATION

In order to get the downloads into the game, first you have to unzip the files.

ATTENTION: No file will work in the game if you do not unzip it or if you unzip it into the wrong folder!

1. Run Winzip and select the "Extract" option into the correct folder of the game.
   
2. Unzip the files into the following folders:
   Walls and Murals (.wll files) into C:\ProgramFiles\Maxis\The Sims\Game Data\Walls folder. Floors (.flr files) into C:\ProgramFiles\Maxis\The Sims\Game Data\Floors folder.
   All normal skins and heads into C:\ProgramFiles\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Skins folder, unless otherwise specified. Hot Date/Vacation buyable skin files (e.g. F100, L401, S402, etc.):
   - into C:\ProgramFiles\Maxis\The Sims\ExpansionPack3\SkinsBuy folder, if you have only Hot Date expansion pack;
   - into C:\ProgramFiles\Maxis\The Sims\ExpansionShared\SkinsBuy folder, if you have The Sims Vacation.
   

1. Skins (clothes) consist of 3 kinds of files: .bmp (the texture, i.e. graphic part of the skin), .cmx and .skn (the meshes, i.e. the shapes that clothes will have in the game: long dresses, pants, minis, etc.). ALL these files MUST be put together in the same folder (GameData\Skins or SkinsBuy depending on their type), otherwise they cannot work and they may cause some problems when running the game.
2. If a zip file does not include the .cmx and .skn files, it means either that they are not necessary (they are already included in the game) or that the skins can be used only in a particular expansion pack.
   
3. If in a .jpg image of the skin you see the inscription "Hot Date" or "Vacation" or both, you have to extract the files into the relevant folder (see above).
   
4. If in a .jpg image you see the inscription "Unleashed", it means the file can work only with TS Unleashed expansion pack, because we could not find the pertinent meshes to be used if you just have The Sims basic game or other expansion packs.
5. No head file is inlcuded in the .zip unless otherwise specified.

1. If a message of errors appears when extracting the downloads to their folders, it probably means that the files have been corrupted during the download. Try and download them again.
2. Remember to unzip the downloads (in the correct folders), otherwise they will never appear in the game.
3. If your game crashes when changing a skin for your Sim, first check that you put all files contained in the .zip into the pertinent directory. If everything seems OK, but your game always crashes, probably there is nothing wrong with the skins, but the problem is somewhere else. In order to detect it, use FileCop (http://thesims.ea.com/us/getcool/makecool.html). This program will search your downloads and remove the damaged or incomplete files.
4. If the walls you downloaded do not appear in the game, maybe you have too many of them. The Sims game (with no other expansions) cannot support an infinite amount of extra walls and floors, but only 200 or so. Therefore, before downloading other things, remove some of those you never use.

5. Per favore, non chiedeteci di darvi i numeri seriali del gioco. E' illegale!
6. Per scaricare i file da questo sito, cliccate sull'immagine desiderata. Comparirà una finestra che vi chiederà dove volete salvare il file. Potete scegliere una cartella qualsiasi sul vostro computer, ma ricordatevi che al momento dell'estrazione dei file, dovrete scegliere l'esatta cartella del gioco (vedere paragrafo "Installazione" sotto).

ATTENZIONE: I file non funzioneranno nel gioco se prima non li estraete dai file zip o se non li mettete nella cartella giusta!

1. Le skin (vestiti) sono composte da 3 tipi di file: .bmp (la texture, ossia la parte grafica della skin), .cmx and .skn (le mesh, ovvero le forme che i vestiti assumono nel gioco: abiti lunghi, pantaloni, minigonne, ecc.). TUTTI questi file devono essere messi nella stessa cartella (GameData\Skins o SkinsBuy a seconda del tipo di skin), altrimenti non funzionano e potrebbero causare problemi durante il gioco.
2. Se un file .zip non contiente i file .cmx e .skn, significa che non sono necessari perché già inclusi nel gioco oppure significa che la skin può essere usata solo se si possiede una particolare espansione del gioco.
3. Se l'immagine .jpg di una skin reca la scritta "Hot Date" o "Vacation" o entrambi, dovete estrarre i file nella relativa cartella (vedi sopra).
4. Se l'immagine .jpg reca la scritta "Unleashed", significa che il file può funzionare solo con quella determinata espansione perché non siamo riuscite a trovare le mesh da usare avendo solo il gioco di base o altre espansioni.
5. Nessun file di teste è incluso negli .zip se non diversamente specificato.

1. Se compare un messaggio di errore durante l'estrazione dei file dallo .zip, probabilmente significa che i file hanno subito un danno mentre venivano scaricati. Provate a scaricarli ancora.
2. Ricordate di unzippare i file scaricati (nelle cartelle corrette), altrimenti non appariranno mai nel gioco.
3. Se il vostro gioco si blocca o torna a Windows mentre cambiate una skin al vostro Sim, innanzitutto controllate di aver messo TUTTI i file contenuti nello .zip nella cartella corrispondente. Se tutto sembra a posto, ma il gioco continua ad avere problemi, probabilmente l'errore non è contenuto nella skin, ma in qualche altro file. Per individuarlo, usate FileCop (http://thesims.ea.com/us/getcool/makecool.html). Questo programma controllerà i file scaricati eliminando quelli incompleti o danneggiati.
4. Se i muri che avete scaricato non compaiono nel gioco, forse ne avete troppi. Il gioco base (The Sims senza altre espansioni) non può supportare un numero illimitato di muri e pavimenti, ma solo 200 circa. Quindi, prima di scaricarne altri, eliminate quelli che sapete di non usare.
